Holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Innsbruck and a Master’s in Police and Public Order Studies from the University of Leicester (UK). In 2001, he joined the Ministry of the Interior of Austria; from 2001 to 2010, he headed the Austrian Federal Bureau for Combating Corruption. He served as Dean (Dean Emeritus) and Executive Secretary of the Assembly of Parties at the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) in Vienna.
